+Auth is OAuth. Cursor prompts for Coinbase sign-in when the plugin connects — there is no client ID or API key to configure. Each user signs in with their own Coinbase account, so tool calls run against that account; Coinbase recommends scoping the agent to a dedicated portfolio.

+## Availability
+
+Coinbase makes its remote MCP server available only to [harnesses on an explicit allowlist](https://docs.cdp.coinbase.com/ai-agents/coinbase-for-agents/coinbase-mcp). Cursor is not on that list yet, so the sign-in prompt cannot complete until Coinbase adds Cursor. Until then, use Coinbase's [CLI setup](https://docs.cdp.coinbase.com/ai-agents/coinbase-for-agents/coinbase-mcp#cli) (`@coinbase/coinbase-cli` with a CDP API key) instead of this plugin.
