Modrinth version files don't declare fabric-language-kotlin as a dependency #382
Installing Ledger from Modrinth through any tool that resolves dependencies (Modrinth App, Prism Launcher, and Server Provider UI's) should also pull in Fabric Language Kotlin, since Ledger requires it at runtime.
Observed/actual behavior
The version files on Modrinth declare no dependencies at all, so dependency resolvers install Ledger alone. The server then fails to start with a Fabric Loader error about the missing fabric-language-kotlin.
Add Ledger to a pack or instance from Modrinth via the Modrinth App/Prism Launcher.
Note that no dependency prompt appears and fabric-language-kotlin is not installed.
Start a server with only Ledger (plus Fabric API) in the mods folder.
Fabric Loader aborts with an unmet dependency error for fabric-language-kotlin.
Fix would be declaring fabric-language-kotlin as a required dependency on uploaded versions. Both the Modrinth upload UI and publishing actions like mc-publish should support this.
What operating system are you running
Other
Minecraft version
26.2
Ledger version
1.3.23
Logs
n/a - metadata issue on the Modrinth listing, no crash log involved; the API output above shows the problem
Agreements
I am running the latest version of the mod.
My version of Minecraft is supported.
I have searched for and ensured there isn't already an open issue regarding this.
Other
Found this while installing Ledger via my server managers mod installer. Not a code bug, purely the Modrinth listing metadata, feel free to relabel if bug isn't the right category.
