Line: "Note: As of Less 4.0, you can escape a list value using bracket escaping [~()]". Is misleading. Please remove the brackets or change the text to read: "As of Less 4.0, you can escape a list value by enclosing it in a tilde and brackets ~()".
The point raised here is valid. The current wording, “paren escape [ ~() ]”, can be misleading because the actual syntax uses a tilde followed by parentheses, ~(), rather than brackets.
I’d be happy to fix this typo in the documentation. Here’s my proposed change:
Current:
“Note: As of Less 4.0, you can wrap a list value using a paren escape [ ~() ], e.g. .name(@param1: ~(red, blue)).”
Proposed:
“Note: As of Less 4.0, you can wrap a list value using a tilde and parentheses ~(), e.g. .name(@param1: ~(red, blue)).”
If this looks good, I’d be happy to open a PR in less/less-docs with the fix.
