Adds agent-feedback entries from scans that drove @marko/vite through realistic workloads: a first-use SSR + hydration app built from the README alone, a production deployment behind a path prefix and a CDN with a strict CSP, an incremental tags-API migration consuming templates from npm dependencies, a first contribution to the repo, and a pass over styles, assets and sourcemaps.

The bugs cover linked builds that never run the client environment (a plain vite build exits 0 and ships a site with no CSS, no client JS and 404ing assets; a configured one reports a build-order error instead), a .marko loaded directly as the SSR entry — the shape the README documents — getting no injected assets at all, every .marko reached through a JS module being treated as a page entry (which breaks component packages and makes tags-API interop fail order-dependently), the SSR noExternal rule missing packages whose entry re-exports templates, getAppend rendering the wrong slot, ?url inlining uncompiled template source into the build, a compile error that outlives its own fix for the life of the dev server, server-only JS edits that never reach the browser, and the client sourcemap carrying the whole server template.

The dx entries cover the absent production-build documentation, basePathVar being the assets-directory URL rather than the site base, and the missing contributor path along with a few checks that silently skip files.

Walkthrough

The pull request adds 15 agent-feedback Markdown records. The records cover README and contributor documentation, linked builds, SSR entry handling, imported Marko templates, package externalization, source maps, compile-error caching, slot rendering, hot reload, translator selection, and template URL imports. Each record includes reproduction or verification details and proposed remediation areas where applicable.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to c880f

The feedback records could still misdirect future fixes for imported templates or SSR externalization, but the change is documentation-only and does not alter runtime behavior.

# Stop treating every `.marko` a JS module imports as a page entry; it breaks component packages and tags-API interop

`checkIsEntry` defaults to `() => true`, and `resolveId` classifies any `.marko` whose importer is a non-Marko module as a `serverEntry`, so a plain JS barrel — `export { default as Card } from "./card.marko"`, the normal way to publish a component library — turns each template it re-exports into a page entry with the server-entry wrapper substituted in its place. For a class-API template this silently attaches page-asset machinery; for a template from a dependency it hard-errors with `@marko/vite: the Marko compiler did not report an asset id for …`; and for a tags-API template the wrapper means the compiler never sees a tag usage, so it never injects `marko/src/runtime/helpers/tags-compat/html-debug.mjs` and rendering dies with `TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'boundary')`. That shim is process-global once loaded, which makes the failure order-dependent in both dev and production: a route that 500s starts returning 200 as soon as some other route deep-imports any tags template, so a canary hitting the right URL first hides the bug until a restart reorders traffic. `src/glob-import-transform.ts` produces the same shape, since it appends bare side-effect `import "./x.marko"` declarations rather than tag usages. Reproduces identically under npm and pnpm, and the `isEntry` escape hatch is documented in neither README.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Scope the diagnosis to the guarded SSR path.

resolveId does not classify every .marko imported by a JavaScript module. The branch also requires ssr && linked, a non-virtual non-Marko importer, and checkIsEntry(...). State these preconditions and constrain the reproduction to linked SSR so the remediation does not alter unrelated client or non-linked resolution paths.
