What this is

A reference repo for real-time Solana data streaming. 119 working examples across 7 programming languages and 17 on-chain event topics. Every one is a standalone, copy-and-run mini-project. No framework overhead.

Built on top of the NoLimitNodes Solana streaming service. Delivers decoded on-chain events over gRPC with median latency under 50ms from block confirmation. Powers production trading bots, arb engines, DEX aggregators, analytics dashboards, and indexers.

If you've been looking for any of these, you're in the right place:

  • A Solana gRPC streaming API with pre-decoded events (no raw transaction parsing)
  • A PumpFun API covering every new token launch, bonding-curve trade, and AMM graduation
  • A Raydium swap stream for AMM v4, CLMM, CPMM, and stable pools
  • A real-time Orca Whirlpool swap feed
  • Meteora DLMM, Pools, and DAMM swap streams
  • A PumpSwap AMM swap stream for post-graduation memecoin trading
  • A firehose of every SPL token transfer on Solana
  • Confirmed Solana block notifications for slot-by-slot indexing
  • A cross-DEX swap firehose that normalizes Raydium, Orca, Meteora, PumpFun, and PumpSwap into one schema
  • Reference clients for Solana streaming in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Rust, Go, Java, or C#

All of the above is covered below with working code, tested output, and production tips.

Who this is for

Developers who need real-time Solana on-chain data and don't want to parse raw transactions. Specifically:

  • Solana trading bot developers building snipe bots, copy-traders, arb engines, and MEV / backrunning strategies
  • DeFi analytics teams computing volume leaderboards, DEX market share, TVL movements, and protocol P&L
  • Indexers and search backends building token registries, creator profiles, holder lookups, and trade history
  • Memecoin trackers watching PumpFun launches and graduations as they land
  • DEX aggregators quoting across 11 AMM programs from a single normalized swap schema
  • Infrastructure engineers looking for a Yellowstone gRPC alternative or a Helius / Shyft / Triton alternative with decoded events out of the box
  • Solana developers learning gRPC. These 119 examples show how to subscribe, handle TLS, pass API-key metadata, and decode payloads in the language you already know

Quickstart: stream Solana in 30 seconds

Step 1. Grab an API key

Head to app.nolimitnodes.com/register and create an account. You'll get a 5-day free trial of the Pro plan automatically, no credit card required. Once you're in, open the dashboard and copy your API key. That's all you need to run anything in this repo.

Step 2. Clone the repo and run the Python example

git clone https://github.com/no-limit-nodes/solana-programs-data-streaming-reference.git
cd solana-programs-data-streaming-reference/system/python/blocks_confirmed
pip install grpcio grpcio-tools
export NLN_API_KEY=sk_live_paste_your_key_here
python3 blocks_confirmed.py

Output:

→ subscribing to prod.rpc.solana.system.blocks-confirmed
slot= 413124444  txs=  978  ts=1776154216338  offset=9571342

Other languages (one-liner each)

Language Quickstart
Python pip install grpcio grpcio-tools && python3 blocks_confirmed.py
JavaScript (Node.js) npm install && node blocks_confirmed.js
TypeScript npm install && npm start
Rust cargo run --release
Go go mod tidy && go run .

System topics (network-wide)

  • blocks_confirmed. Notifications for every confirmed Solana slot, with the transaction count. Good fit for slot-aware indexers, block-height-keyed cron jobs, and catch-up workers.
  • transfers. Every native SOL transfer and every SPL token transfer instruction on Solana mainnet. This is the highest-volume topic in the set. Useful for wallet activity trackers, exchange deposit watchers, and treasury analytics.
  • swaps_partitionless. A single unified firehose of every DEX swap on Solana (PumpSwap, PumpFun, Raydium, Orca, Meteora), normalized into the shared Swap schema. Subscribe once, see everything.

PumpFun topics (Solana's #1 memecoin launchpad)

  • create. Every new PumpFun token launch, including name, symbol, creator wallet, mint, bonding-curve PDA, and metadata URI. Required for snipe bots and launch trackers.
  • trade. Every buy and sell on PumpFun's bonding curve, with the full fee breakdown, reserve state, and an ix_name field indicating buy or sell.
  • graduate. Fires when a token's bonding curve hits threshold and migrates to an AMM pool (typically PumpSwap). Used by bots that trade the first few seconds of post-graduation liquidity.
  • transaction. Raw transaction metadata for every PumpFun-touching tx: first signer, compute unit limits, priority fees, tip info (Jito etc.), inner instruction counts. Feeds custom decoders and MEV analytics.
  • swaps. PumpFun bonding-curve trades rendered through the unified Swap schema. Useful if you already have a Swap-shaped pipeline and don't want a second PumpFun-specific decoder.

DEX swap topics (per-program)

  • pumpswap/swaps. Every PumpSwap AMM swap. PumpSwap is where graduated PumpFun tokens trade, and it's one of the highest-volume AMMs on Solana.
  • raydium/amm_v4_swaps. Classic Raydium AMM v4 swaps. Longest-running Solana AMM; still dominant for many pairs.
  • raydium/clmm_swaps. Raydium concentrated liquidity market maker swaps. The single highest-volume Solana DEX stream we measured (50-60 events/sec steady).
  • raydium/cpmm_swaps. Raydium's newer constant-product market maker swaps.
  • raydium/stable_swaps. Raydium stable-pool swaps. Low volume but high-value pairs (stable/stable, SOL/mSOL, etc.).
  • orca/whirlpool_swaps. Every Orca Whirlpool swap. Orca Whirlpools are Solana's flagship concentrated-liquidity DEX (Uniswap v3-style).
  • meteora/dlmm_swaps. Meteora DLMM (Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker) swaps. Meteora's high-volume flagship.
  • meteora/pools_swaps. Meteora's legacy constant-product pools. Low volume. Included for completeness.
  • meteora/damm_swaps. Meteora DAMM (Dynamic AMM) swaps. The newer Meteora AMM program.

Language-specific quickstarts

Python, with grpcio

Python is the easiest entry point. Install grpcio and grpcio-tools, import the generated stubs, subscribe, iterate. Our examples embed the .proto in the script and compile it at startup, so every example is a single file with no pre-codegen step.

import grpc, json, os
# (see system/python/blocks_confirmed/blocks_confirmed.py, ~80 lines)

See all 17 Python examples →

TypeScript, with @grpc/grpc-js

TypeScript examples use @grpc/grpc-js alongside @grpc/proto-loader for runtime proto loading. They run under tsx for zero-compile dev ergonomics. Type definitions for every payload are included so autocomplete works out of the box.

import * as grpc from '@grpc/grpc-js';
// (see system/typescript/blocks_confirmed/blocks_confirmed.ts)

See all 17 TypeScript examples →

JavaScript (Node.js)

Same stack as the TypeScript examples, just plain CommonJS. Drop into any Node.js project. Works on Node 18+.

See all 17 JavaScript examples →

Rust, with tonic and prost

Rust examples use tonic on top of tokio, with webpki-roots for TLS (no system truststore dependency). Build with cargo build --release. First-time compile of tonic/prost takes around 90 seconds; after that, rebuilds are a few seconds.

See all 17 Rust examples →

Go, with google.golang.org/grpc

Go examples use the standard google.golang.org/grpc client. Generated pb stubs are checked into the repo, so go run . works immediately without running protoc. Every example ships with go.mod and go.sum.

See all 17 Go examples →

C# / .NET, with Grpc.Net.Client

C# examples use Grpc.Net.Client plus Grpc.Tools, which auto-generates stubs at build time. Targets .NET 10. dotnet run handles restore, build, and run.

See all 17 C# examples →

Java, with grpc-java and Maven

Java examples use grpc-netty-shaded, grpc-protobuf, and grpc-stub, with protobuf-maven-plugin generating stubs at build time. Targets JDK 21 (javac --release 21). Includes Jackson for JSON payload decoding.

See all 17 Java examples →

Use cases

Every topic in this repo maps to real production use cases. A non-exhaustive list:

Solana trading bots

  • PumpFun snipe bots. Subscribe to pumpfun/create, match tokens against your criteria (creator whitelist, symbol pattern, metadata URL regex), and execute a buy on the bonding curve in the same slot.
  • Graduation snipers. Subscribe to pumpfun/graduate, identify tokens migrating to PumpSwap, front-run the first post-graduation pool liquidity.
  • Copy trading. Subscribe to pumpfun/trade or any swap topic, filter by user / trader, mirror a whale wallet's moves.
  • Cross-DEX arbitrage. Subscribe to raydium/clmm_swaps, orca/whirlpool_swaps, and meteora/dlmm_swaps in parallel. Compare quotes on the same mint pair. Execute an atomic swap when the spread crosses your threshold.
  • MEV / backrunning. Subscribe to pumpfun/transaction or system/transfers, classify by compute budget, priority fee, and tip amount, and queue profitable reactions for the next slot.

Solana analytics and indexing

  • DEX volume leaderboards. Aggregate Swap events across every DEX topic live. Compute 24h / 7d rolling volume per pair, per DEX, per pool.
  • Token launch trackers. Index every pumpfun/create event into a searchable database keyed by mint → metadata → creator → trade history.
  • Graduation dashboards. Track PumpFun bonding-curve fills. Compute time-to-graduation, graduation volume, and post-graduation price action.
  • Wallet activity feeds. Subscribe to system/transfers filtered by from_wallet or to_wallet for a Solscan-style account timeline.
  • Liquidity flow monitoring. Track input_amount and output_amount on specific pools to detect whale LP adds and removes.

Infrastructure and indexers

  • DEX aggregators. Ingest the shared Swap schema from 11 different AMM programs and surface best-execution quotes without writing per-DEX decoders.
  • Price oracles. Compute volume-weighted price feeds per mint pair from the full swaps_partitionless firehose.
  • Token holder indexers. Join system/transfers by token_address to maintain real-time holder counts and balance snapshots.
  • Notification services. Push wallet-activity alerts, rug warnings, or graduation notifications via webhook, push, or email by subscribing and filtering client-side.

Learning Solana gRPC

These 119 examples cover 7 different gRPC client libraries across the major languages. If you're trying to understand how x-api-key metadata works, how to stream over TLS, or how to handle SubscribeResponse bytes in your language, start here.

How it works

You open a TLS gRPC stream to stream-1.nln.clr3.org:443, attach your API key as x-api-key metadata, call nln.stream.v1.StreamService.Subscribe with a topic name, and consume a long-lived stream of decoded events. Median latency from block confirmation to receipt is under 50ms. That's the entire developer surface.

The gRPC service definition is in each task's stream_service.proto. docs/schemas.md documents every payload type.

Comparison vs other Solana data providers

There's no shortage of options for Solana real-time data. Here's how NoLimitNodes stacks up against the alternatives most teams evaluate:

Feature This repo / NoLimitNodes Yellowstone gRPC (generic) Helius Atlas / Enhanced Shyft Triton
Pre-decoded DEX swaps (single schema across 11 AMMs) ✓ ✗ (raw tx) partial partial ✗ (raw tx)
PumpFun native events (create/trade/graduate) ✓ ✗ partial ✓ ✗
Unified Swap schema ✓ ✗ ✗ ✗ ✗
7-language reference clients ✓ partial ✓ ✓ partial
Free tier sufficient for this repo ✓ varies ✓ ✓ ✗
MIT-licensed reference code ✓ partial partial partial partial

When to pick this over Yellowstone gRPC. Yellowstone hands you raw transaction and account data. You write the decoders. That's flexible but expensive in eng time. If your goal is "subscribe to every PumpSwap swap," the NoLimitNodes Swap stream saves weeks of decoder work per DEX.

When Yellowstone still makes sense. You need account-level streams for programs not covered by the NoLimitNodes decoders, or you want raw tx data for custom analytics. Yellowstone is the right primitive.

When to pick this over Helius Atlas / Enhanced. You need normalized per-DEX swap streams across Raydium, Orca, Meteora, and PumpSwap, not just "all Solana transactions". The shared Swap schema here is significantly easier to work with.

Migrating from another provider. Every example here reads NLN_API_KEY from env, hits one gRPC endpoint (stream-1.nln.clr3.org:443), and uses x-api-key metadata. Swap your client's endpoint and auth header; the rest of your pipeline stays the same.

Common patterns

Every example in this repo is deliberately minimal, ~70-100 lines. Production systems layer on the patterns below. Snippets are Python for brevity; the same logic holds in every language.

Reconnect with exponential backoff

import time, random
delay = 1.0
while True:
    try:
        stream_blocks()   # your subscribe loop
        delay = 1.0 # reset on clean run
    except Exception as e:
        print(f"disconnected: {e}; reconnecting in {delay:.1f}s")
        time.sleep(delay + random.random())
        delay = min(delay * 2, 60.0)

Client-side filtering

Every Subscribe call delivers the full firehose. Filter in your client:

for msg in stub.Subscribe(request, metadata=metadata):
    swap = json.loads(msg.payload)
    # e.g. only Orca whale buys of ≥10 SOL
    if swap.get("dex") == "orca_whirlpool" and (swap.get("net_sol") or 0) < -10:
        handle_whale_buy(swap)

Subscribe to multiple topics in parallel

Open one channel and spawn N Subscribe coroutines, threads, or goroutines (one per topic). API-key quotas cap concurrent streams; see nolimitnodes.com.

Switch to PROTO for smaller wire size

Change format=JSON to format=PROTO in the SubscribeRequest. Decode the payload with your compiled proto stubs. That cuts wire size by roughly 30-40%. All examples here default to JSON for readability.

Track offsets for at-least-once processing

Persist (topic, offset) after each successfully processed message. On reconnect, resume from the last stored offset.

Monitor end-to-end latency

SubscribeResponse.timestamp_ms is the server publish time. Subtract your client's receipt time for a live latency gauge. Typical reading: under 50ms.

Why NoLimitNodes

  • Unlimited requests on the RPC side. No per-request caps or credit systems.
  • Every protocol, one key. HTTP RPC, WebSocket RPC, gRPC streams (this repo), data streams.
  • Sub-50ms latency at the median.
  • 99.99% uptime with automatic failover.
  • Normalized schemas. One Swap schema covers 11 AMMs. No per-DEX decoder maintenance.
  • Developer-first. This repo exists. Full docs. 24/7 support.

FAQ

How do I stream Solana DEX swaps in real time?

Subscribe to one of the Swap topics. For all DEXes at once, use system/swaps_partitionless. For a specific DEX, use the per-DEX topic (e.g. raydium/clmm_swaps). Every language in this repo has a working example that streams decoded swaps in under 30 seconds.

How do I get PumpFun launch data?

Subscribe to prod.rpc.solana.pumpfun.create. Every new PumpFun launch arrives as a CreateEntry event with mint, name, symbol, creator wallet, bonding curve PDA, and metadata URI. See pumpfun/<lang>/create/ for your language.

How do I detect PumpFun graduations?

Subscribe to prod.rpc.solana.pumpfun.graduate. The GraduateEvent fires the moment a token's bonding curve hits threshold and migrates to an AMM pool (typically PumpSwap). Low volume (~1-5/min) but every event is high-signal for snipers. See pumpfun/<lang>/graduate/.

Is there a Yellowstone gRPC alternative for Solana?

Yes. The NoLimitNodes streaming service this repo demonstrates. The key difference: Yellowstone delivers raw transactions and account updates (you write the decoders); NoLimitNodes delivers pre-decoded, normalized events. Both have their place. See comparison.

How fast are the streams?

Median latency from block confirmation to client receipt is under 50ms. The SubscribeResponse.timestamp_ms field lets you measure end-to-end latency from your own client.

Do I need a paid plan to run the examples?

No. Signing up at app.nolimitnodes.com/register gives you a 5-day free Pro trial with no credit card required. Every example in this repo runs on that trial key.

How do I decode a SubscribeResponse.payload?

When you request format=JSON (the default here), payload is UTF-8 JSON bytes. Decode with your language's JSON parser: json.loads in Python, JSON.parse in JS/TS, serde_json in Rust, encoding/json in Go, System.Text.Json in C#, Jackson in Java.

For smaller wire size, request format=PROTO and decode with compiled proto stubs matching the topic's event type. See docs/schemas.md for proto definitions.

How do I handle stream disconnects?

Wrap your subscribe loop in exponential backoff on UNAVAILABLE, CANCELLED, and connection-reset errors. The examples here exit cleanly on Ctrl+C but don't implement auto-reconnect. See the reconnection pattern above for the ten-line addition.

Can I use this with Python async / asyncio?

The examples use blocking grpcio for simplicity. For async, swap grpc.secure_channel(...) for grpc.aio.secure_channel(...) and async for msg in stub.Subscribe(...). Everything else is identical. The grpcio docs have full AsyncIO coverage.

Does this work on Windows?

Yes. Python, JS, TS, Rust, Go, C#, and Java all work on Windows 10+. Maven and OpenJDK setup is trickier on Windows than macOS, so consider WSL2 for Java dev.

How do I benchmark this against my current provider?

Run two clients side by side (one pointed at your current provider, one at this repo's example). Compare: (a) events received per second, (b) end-to-end latency using the server timestamp, (c) schema completeness for the DEXes you care about.

Can I contribute a new language?

Yes. See CONTRIBUTING.md. Most-requested candidates: Kotlin, Swift, Elixir, Ruby, PHP.

Glossary

AMM. Automated Market Maker. On-chain liquidity pool that lets anyone swap between two assets.

Bonding curve. PumpFun's pre-graduation pricing mechanism. Each buy raises the price, each sell lowers it, all within a fixed formula.

CLMM. Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker. LPs provide liquidity in specific price ranges rather than across the full curve. Orca Whirlpools and Raydium CLMM are the Solana flagships.

CPMM. Constant Product Market Maker. x * y = k. Simplest AMM math.

DAMM. Dynamic AMM. Meteora's newer AMM with dynamic fee adjustment.

DLMM. Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker. Meteora's flagship. Bin-based liquidity with dynamic fees.

Graduation. When a PumpFun token's bonding curve reaches ~85 SOL and migrates to a PumpSwap AMM pool.

Partitioned topic. A streaming topic where messages are split across partitions by a key (e.g. trader wallet) for horizontal scale. Partitionless topics deliver one ordered stream to every subscriber.

PumpFun. Solana's #1 memecoin launchpad. Tokens start on bonding curves and graduate to AMMs.

PumpSwap. PumpFun's AMM. Post-graduation PumpFun tokens trade here.

SPL token. Solana's token standard (analogous to ERC-20 on Ethereum).

Whirlpool. Orca's concentrated-liquidity pool type.
