extraWarnings Unresolved Reference When Applying Wire Gradle Plugin in Kotlin Multiplatform Project

When applying the Wire Gradle plugin in a Kotlin Multiplatform project and using the new compilerOptions DSL with extraWarnings, the build fails with an unresolved reference error:

Expected behavior
