CARTO now requires an API key for their raster basemaps, and has confirmed the same requirement is coming to vector basemaps (https://carto.com/basemaps/apikey/). carto_style() currently has no way to pass a key param to the generated tile URL(s), so once this rolls out to vector tiles, maps using this function will break.
